Cincinnati Ohio offers fun things to do for all ages, including festivals galore. Explore North America’s largest Oktoberfest, Riverfest, Miami River Days and an annual air show, or perhaps test your bargain-hunting skills in the world’s longest yard sale. An annual event that is held over two days, the Blue Ash Air Show features a car show, a 5K race, and from noon to 3:00 p.m., an air show that is replete with skydivers, aircraft stunts and more. Children love the aircraft rides and kid zone. This Blue Ash airport event benefits the HEART program at Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Join approximately half a million people in Cincinnati for North America’s largest Oktoberfest. Celebrated each year in September, the event covers six blocks of Fifth Street, from Race Street to Broadway. Celebrating German heritage, Oktoberfest offers something for everyone – from music to food and German beer.
Sawyer Point Park is the setting for the Cincinnati Salsa Festival. The fun begins on Friday at Step’n Out Studio in Covington where a pre-party event takes place, which features Angel Ortiz and DJ Lexus.
Enjoy a host of fun Cincinnati activities at the Great Miami River Games. Discover everything from games, great cuisine, boat races, water and jet-ski shows, a fishing derby, a Civil War reenactment and rides for children.
An annual end-of-summer bash, the RiverFest hosts a big fireworks display beginning at 9:05 p.m. Held in 2008 on August 31st, this signature Cincinnati event is held at Sawyer Point Park.
World’s Longest Yard Sale
Grab the family and head over to MainStrasse Village in Covington, KY for what is billed as “the world’s longest yard sale.” Scheduled for August 7th, the yard sale extends for 450 miles – all the way to Gadsen, Alabama. A classic car show is held at MainStrasse as well on August 3rd.
